      I have files from when I had Encore 4.5.2. Will I be able to open these files with the new Encore?

          I was able to open and edit all MusicTime 2.0 files in Encore 5.0.4.875.
          So it should also be possible to read “old” Encore files in the new software.
          As Mike said: We hope.
