When I convert an Encore file in to a .mid the last note is cut off rather abruptly according to it’s literal value. – so in a case where a note has any sustain or “ambience” (albeit digital) – in my case, crash cymbals, open triangle or tom tom/percussion, it’s abruptly cut off. My workaround is to place a “dud” note a measure or two after the last note that when I convert to a .mid and then ultimately a .wav or .mp3, I just edit out the “dud” note. (I’ve tried “tie” it to a note but essentially it’s the same issue. Playback is fine in Encore but converting to another file type is where the issue lies.
