Tony, as well yesterday night when I saw your post, as just now, I didn’t experience such a phenomenon.
With other products, I have that same impression – but impression is not evidence, I should stopwatch that.
I don’t remember if E5 has a process to check (at every startup or once a day) if there is an update made available; some products do, and it reuires access to a site somewhere. That site being not active or not inaccessible is ignored. But if the site – or the network to access it – is somehow overloaded, a long delay is possible.
What I suggest you to try, is to stop your network connection while you start E5, and see if the problem persists.
