How do you get a decent size blank score? I would like to make the staves a bit bigger (maybe 25%), and also fit the width of the screen. The documentation mentions a Zoom bar, but I don’t get one. I’ve played around with the Zoom and the “Fit to width” but nothing seems to come out right. “Custom” Zoom seems to do nothing. And I don’t see a horizontal scroll bar.

[I used Music Time Deluxe for many years until I switched to Windows 10, when it essentially stopped working. (It will not re-load a file after Saving it.) Same result with Win 11. Seems like it corrupts the file when Saving.] It turns out that Encore will load and Save these supposedly “Corrupted” .mus scores and Save them as .enc files, so I can recover any .mus scores I need.

Would you give numbers to specify a “decent size blank score”? Decency is a quite personal feeling. Do you want to print that on on paper, or to show it on a screen?

(in Encore 5) The zoom levels (found at the right size of the enlargment glass) indicate how the “real score” would show on the screen, and has nothing to do with the printed page.
The print page sizes are set in the File Menu, option “Page Setup”. I must confess I never played with it, one may need to get accustomed to it.

The staff size is set in the “/” panel, the default is 3 and the maximum is 4, which is not that big.

I agree that this is quite old design, I think still the same as mid-1990’s. Nowadays one works less with paper and privileges landscape formats.

        Andre was quicker. 🙂

The horizontal scroll bar is only available in the Mac version. On Windows, the zoom works as follows:
Click on the small triangular arrow next to the magnifying glass.
In the menu that now opens, you can choose between ‘Fit Page’, ‘Fit Width’, ‘Actual Scale’, ‘Constant Scale’, as well as zoom level ‘x2’, ‘x3’, “x4” or ‘Custom’.
With the zoom levels, a mouse pointer in the form of a hand is displayed after the respective setting. If you click on this in the score, the desired setting is applied. With Custom, you can enter the percentage of magnification directly, click on OK and then click on the hand symbol directly in the score. This is actually quite simple.
You can also set the size of the staves in the Staff-Sheet menu. Select the size 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the ‘Size’ column. The default setting is 3.
