We have a promise hanging over our heads that a new Encore is coming. Spending time/money on a computer that is imploding for a software that is obsolete would be less than smart, except that the promise is getting dragged out. I came in late to some of these discussions, thrilled to find this promise. But will it ever be fulfilled?

This is also my birthday! What a coincidence.

I have started using Musescore when I run into issues with Encore. I still love Encore. Due to an OS upgrade, I somehow lost my serial number that was keeping my Encore program alive. So I came here today in the hopes I would have a solution. Apparently I do not yet.because of that, I may have to finally say goodbye to Encore. Don’t want to, but there does not seem to be a timetable for the new program, and I can’t tell the old program is being supported.

For sure, support for Encore has been formally discontinued when PassportMusic stopped business, wasn’t that in 2020? And it was already extremely minimal when a so-called “Revived Passport” took over from GVOX in 2023.
The new Passport owner has never indicated he would support Encore5 – which I understand.A few users here are trying to help other users in this forum, on a best effort basis, but we are unable to help on formal registration matters. It is probable that we are still bound by the license agreement we signed in the past, and that it would not be legal to publicly disclose registration keys here.
On Windows, the registration key is stored on the registry, at a well-defined place, and I guess that on Mac it should be similar. Recovering it may require some recovery copy of the registry.
