In Encore 5.0.4.875 I have found that under SCORE, {Midi Device/Instrument Settings} that the Device box in not showing the name of the Instruments. Its blank. I reinstalled the same Encore 5.0.4.875 about five times and the same thing occurred. An empty Midi Device/Instrument Settings box is empty and no instruments are showing but everything else is ok. So I will like to know if there is a solution to fix the problem? Please Help!
Yes, it happens that (for a new score, or a new staff), the “Device preset type” (in Midi device and instrument settings) is initialized with “Generic” or some other empty list.
Click on that field, and select, as a base, “Generic Midi” (you may have to scroll up a little to find it).If you find in the list the exact description of your synthesizer, feel free to us it, of course.

I would be interested to know whether the device list is completely empty or whether there are numbers there.I would like to see a screen shot, and the .enc file. My mail address can be derived from my user name here.
Under “Programs (x86)” you will find the program folder “Encore-5.0.4”. If you open this folder, you will see various subfolders. Among them there must also be a folder called “Device”. All MIDI instruments should be stored here.
If this is not the case, I can send you a link where you can find all the instruments. Simply open the downloaded ZIP file and copy the contents into the “Device” folder under Encore-xxx. If there is no device folder, please create one first. The instruments should now appear.
