My wishlist:
1. Assuming there will be some new bells and whistles, maybe include a “classic” mode that resembles the original as much as possible: it is so elegant. (love that era of software design….)
2. Please don’t start at Mac OS 15… 🙂 I’m sure many users like me have great working MacBooks etc. that still run various versions of OS 10. Maybe can’t hope for that, but how far back in OS-land do you plan to make this compatible?
3. If possible, please include as many vintage/classic synth device files as possible (i.e. Korg M1 and X5DR, Roland and EMU modules, etc.).August 8, 2025 at 9:20 pm #4620Thank You for what you’re doing to revive this old software for us. I was on the old forums for many years. I am so excited at the possibility of a new version of MTP. Here are some notes I’ve made over the years of bugs and a new-features wishlist:
1. Unlimited ‘Undo’s and ‘Redo’s as a viewable list
2. Have a randomize, and randomize with filters button on every editor option, similar to the humanize function
3. Be able to change and save controller names in Track Editor
4. Larger or wider ‘Choose Instrument’ window to be able to read entire instrument names
5. Make ‘Name’ box in Track Editor adjustable size/width for longer name/notes
6. Show the current song name somewhere in the top bar
7. Be able to easily copy all of the information from one track in the Track Editor, to another (ie. all controllers/faders and their values and movements)
8. Option to ‘Insert Measure’ and ‘Delete Measure’ only on highlighted (multiple) tracks
9. Device patch name files for many popular 80s, 90s synths and rack synths would be great
10. Have a ‘Notepad’ for each song separately
11. The ‘Head’ button should also reset to default any parameter (ie. cutoff etc.) on each track that I may have edited from my keyboard.
12. Clicking on a tracks’ ‘controller name’ box could open a list of all controllers and show their present settings
13. Half steps for BPM – Tempo (ex. 120.5)
14. Have a window configuration “scenes” option for different configs
15. Scroll Wheel on mouse to scroll Track Editor and Piano Roll Editor
16. Create Mute/Solo groups for easy instrument soloing (such as all of the drum tracks)
17. Be able to ‘Loop’ a specified portion of a song (ie. highlight a section in the Track Editor and have a loop option, or something similar)
18. Be able to see ‘boxes’ fill-in in real time while recordingCurrent bugs:
-Master Fader doesn’t work on most recent version
-Offset Tempo is missing numbers
-If you ‘slide’ a note to the left past a bar, and then undo, it add’s an extra note behind on the left bar
-Rev & For buttons don’t respond to fast clicks -
