I have used this program for 16 years and never had a problem with it printing until yesterday and now it will not print. I cannot get Encore to print…my printer is set up on computer correctly. Is there a place in the software that this needs to be set up? The little circle continues and does not stop.

I too am having problems with printing from ENCORE. Only when I print the copy comes out as a “demo” sheet. One other problem I have is that after altering a schore to new version is NOT saved.
I have used ENCORE from many years. I purchased Version 5.0 in January 2022 and it has worked well untill three weeks ago when the two problems have started.

There are no direct settings for printing in Encore. At least none are known to me. In the printer menu you can only select the printer, the pages to print and the number of pages.
Is the printer really installed correctly? Can you print from other programs? Then printing from Encore should also work. For example, I print to a network printer with Encore without any problems.

            Mr. Lloyd

It looks like you are using the demo version of Encore. Only then “DEMO” is printed with the printout and saving the sheet of music is not possible.

For some reason, Encore is not seeing your license.

I’ll assume Windows but I’m on a Macc. I’d look at the manual for a solution.

                Mario2,
I print from other programs on this computer and do not have a problem printing. This just started a couple of weeks ago.

                Mike,
I’m not sure where the license would be displaying in this forum. I had to set up a new account on this website because I could access the link to the old website. I have a license and use Encore version 4.5.5. Hopefully when Encore 6 gets released, I can use my license to upgrade to Encore 6.

Thank you all for your response.

                  You misunderstand.

If I remember correctly, Encore 4 doesn’t save or print if the program can’t validate the license file. In Windows, this is often caused by a path error during a Microsoft update. Sometimes, reinstalling the app and re-entering the license will fix this.

I had a similar problem, the license got “lost.” I re-entered my license number, and it has been working fine.

I am having a problem printing to a PDF. This used to work fine with no problems, but now it just keeps freezing up & I have to shut down the software. The only workaround I have is to print the music and then copy or scan it to a PDF. I wish there were some solutions, patches, or upgrades addressing this issue. Copying printed music to a PDF is not as good a quality to share my music.

                        “I am having a problem printing to a PDF.…”

Mac or Windows? This is one area where the two operating systems are way different. The MacOS has a native pdf engine but Windows does not.

Windows users should use a 3rd party pdf engine. If you were using Microsoft’s Print to PDF, that has been depreciated and is no longer available for download (too problematic and Microsoft stopped trying to fix it). The free app ‘Cute PDF’ is popular.

                          snball60,
As Mike has already explained, this depends on the operating system.
With Windows you have to use third party providers. A printer driver is then installed for PDF printing.
I had also tried several PDF printer drivers until the results were ok.
