@ GDelanghe
As far as I understand, Encore 6 will (?) use something like an Overture core, keeping an Encore-like GUI. The core is something important, but is invisible to the eyes – except for the developer, and bugs. However, it has been said that the palettes would be replaced by a kind of dock, located at the left side of the screen. And if you look at Overture’s GUI, it resembles very much to a kind of dock, located at the left side of the screen.
Let’s not forget that a GUI is designed at a certain moment in time, designed towards the equipment – the screen, primarily – available at that moment.
This kind of left-side dock, if built around 1990, would either have unreadable characters, or not leave any room for the score. Today it’s quite different, the screens are so large that one needs to fill them (just kidding…)-

May 11, 2025 at 6:22 am #4219According to Amin’s post dated November 27, 2024, he said this:
Funny thing is, the latest code that was sent to me, will not open some of the original Mac demo files.
But, the good news is, I can open them with the new code. This is why I have chosen to use Overture code, instead of the old Encore code.
The old Encore code has been driving me nuts, with all the bugs, so it is a very slow process.Which means, as you may have noticed, Encore 6 will use something like an Overture core, keeping an Encore-like GUI with the addition of new features.
This will no longer create too much work for existing users who have pending projects. For the palettes to be replaced by a sort of dock, I would suggest that it also be detachable to better allow the user to organize their work environment like most modern software.
May 14, 2025 at 11:12 am #4228TRIPLETS IN UNBEAMED NOTES
In older versions of Encore, the number 3 above the triplets is placed on each note. It is not possible to use a single number 3 above the three eighth notes in a non-beamed note. This is only possible in beamed mode.
I would suggest that this be revised as well.May 15, 2025 at 10:58 am #4229You can convert the number 3 above un-beamed notes, even with different values, to a number 3 in a broken beam using the “Triplets beam group” located in the toolbar.
May 20, 2025 at 6:31 pm #4239The manual shows how to do this. If you still need help, please let us know if Mac or Windows, the OS version and build of Encore.
May 21, 2025 at 6:01 am #4243Mister Mike I still need help about it because I use a lot triplet in my compositions.

May 21, 2025 at 11:09 am #4247Indeed, the manual shows how to hide bracket/figure, but only for quarter notes (and up, probably); for eighth notes (and shorter), only when beamed.
In any case, omitting the tuplet figure is an outdated bad habit, resulting in much confusion for the (musician) reader. The only case where it could be tolerated is for repetitive sets of (three) beamed notes.

May 21, 2025 at 2:21 pm #4249Encore can only place a single number 3 on eighth notes when they’re beamed.
Thank you very much, Andre.
You just mentioned what I’m saying. Encore can only place a single number 3 on eighth notes when they’re beamed.
In most new music notation software these days, the number 3 is placed on unbeamed eighth notes.
This is what I’m proposing in the new version of ENCORE6.
As a regular user of triplets, this makes my scores cumbersome.
I’m going to send you one of my scores entered by ENCORE and another software to illustrate my concern because it’s not possible to share files on this forum.May 23, 2025 at 10:50 am #4281Jack, I didn’t receive anything by mail yet.
May 25, 2025 at 9:54 am #4486I just saw the change from “Coming this Winter” to “Coming this Summer” on the splash page. To an optimist like me, that’s great news. It means (to me at least) that Don can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

June 9, 2025 at 2:41 am #4507Beste Jack,
Hopelijk begrijp ik je vragen mbt triolen goed. IK doe het op deze manier…
Voorbeeld:
