    Good thing I never took the time to learn Finale! But I’ve decided to move forward with Dorico. Learning new things is good for the brain.

    An update: I purchased and have been learning Dorico 5. Yes, it’s not the same as Encore, and yes, it has a learning curve, but so did Encore. And like mentioned above, I’m sure Encore 6 will be a rewrite with a learning curve too. My 1st Dorico project was accomplished in about 3 hours, and the printed score looks very nice. — While we are all waiting for Encore 6, leaning something new might not be as terrible as we think it will be.

    I was hoping to read replies from folk who are using alternative software- not those of you still using Encore.

    Well, if the release date has changed from Fall to Winter, I take it as a sign that Don is working on getting it released, and it should be soon. If you weren’t working on it at all, why change the date??
