Attention Don Williams. As evidenced by the many very patient Encore users who are contributing to this forum, WE LOVE ENCORE. But we need it updated to run on modern computing machinery. Please help us. Please make Encore 6 your priority #1.

DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantMario2, I have an original copy of Windows XP that I “can” load on a dedicated computer. I don’t want to do that.
I want my Encore updated with the Windows shortcuts and compatibility that MuseScore3 has.
One of the many issues I have with Encore 5.4 running on Windows 10 is that if I use the <control><z> command twice, Encore freezes, leaving me to reboot the program losing all unsaved work.
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantMike, Does the feature allow you to hide selected measures? Please advise.
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantThank you Bernard Rey
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantMike, Please tell me more about Overture 5
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantI remember I paid full price for Encore in 1995 when it was on two 3.5″ 1.44M HD floppy disks. Then I upgraded several times and received CDs of Encore. Finally, the uploads are 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4. I received a new serial number when I purchased each upgrade. Whether there is a consideration for longtime users of this product or not, the new owners need to know that we, the users, have been pushed around and swept under the carpet by the previous owners for so long we are tired of being dismissed. Let us all work together to make Encore 6 viable for existing users and competitive in the market so that Encore can compete with Finale.
In the voice of Rain Man, “[Finale] sucks!”
Finale is such a major player in the market, we need Encore 6 to be compatible with Finale and Windows 10/11, but retain the human interface that Encore has always had. Is that too much to ask for?George
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantHear ye! Hear ye! I too would be happy to Beta test the new v6 program! -Encore user since 1995
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantGood question. I will wait for Don’s response.
I too, have floppy disks from 1995, 1998, 2000, and then CDs from 2003, 2004 and 2010, and still several downloads until 2013. Each set of discs has a unique serial number. I own them all and paid as high as the full purchase price or as low as an upgrade price. I am currently using version 5.0.4.875, and it continually fails when I use the <control> <X> function, Encore freezes, and I have to reload the program and file. Consequently, I lose all work since the last save. Please, please, please. Full Windows interface and functionality.- This reply was modified 2 years, 2 months ago by DrGeorgeMiklas.

DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantWill Encore be fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11 machines?
DrGeorgeMiklasParticipantI have owned and used Encore since 1995. Don, I am thrilled that you are supporting Encore again. I agree with @jaz regarding extracting parts. My response to the inadequacies has been to send “score notes” documents. I send my score, parts, and score notes ahead since I fly/drive in just in time for the dress rehearsal many times. In the score notes, I instruct the conductors and managers to direct the orchestra in annotating their parts to add the dynamics (that were supposed to be extracted from the top line but didn’t extract). The score and parts are the first impressions that an orchestra has of me as a featured soloist since I arrange and orchestrate my concert pieces. I hope that your upgrades will help me to resolve this issue.
