And Encore 4?
Users often have a large library dating several years, not to say centuries, with several pieces which never had to be updated.And Encore 4?
Yeah, converting those old files was lots of fun on the Mac and required a G4 that could dual-boot into OS 9 and 10.4, then another that could boot into 10.6. I was doing this for a number of users before my wife threw out my G4 during an office remodel.
I am forever-hopeful for a new version of Encore. But in the mean time, I want to install Encore on my WIndows 10 laptop because my Mac kicked the bucket…(still have the CD!). I have version 5.0.4. Is that the most recent version? If it’s not the latest/greatest version, it’s still worth installing, correct?
The latest is still 504, but there is a subnumber for which the latest is 875. If you are far from that number (see Help/About) send me a mail, so that I could send you a link.
(for Mac the numbers were higher, up to 507, but it doesn’t mean it is more recent, they just numbered it differently).Thanks! Another question: I also have a Windows 11 desktop computer; is Encore compatible with Windows 11? I’ve seen posts that say it is, and posts that say it isn’t.
Generally Encore works on Windows 11, and certainly when this was an upgrade of an earlier W10 on the same machine.
I have read that there are limitations on loadable software on some computers equipped with Windows 11 “from the box”. That might be a smarted down version.

Recently i notice that under score the (Mini Device Instrument settings) are not showing when i log on to Encore and Encore takes along time to show. is there any way that it caa be fixed?I check back on the 1st of every month to see if Encore 6 is ready. I haven’t totally given up, but can’t help being very disappointed. If Encore wasn’t such an easy program to use and I’m so fast with it, I use it on an old white Mac laptop, which works well. I just save a lot to be safe.
I got less than 24 hours as a call to sub and wanted to rescore some charts so I did 5 or so overnight. 2-3pagers a piece. Any other software would have taken much longer to score up I’m sure. Including the new version of Encore yet to be released if it was magically here. As much as I would love to see a new Encore version – the old version with warts and all will probably be better. So it gives me some comfort that the new version isn’t available yet since it saves me from the disappointment of spending money on the new version that I become frustrated with. I do hope it works out better than that, though (I probably have another 2+ years to face that dilemma).
Still looking like this Summer? I’m sure there are many of us who are waiting for the new version. Perhaps an update from you would be appreciated.
I’m using Encore 5.0.4.872 on a Windows 11 machine. From time to time, when I start Encore it has me in demo mode, and I need to re-enter my license key to save a file or to properly print. After entering the key, all is back to normal. Any idea how to prevent this annoyance?
This is what worked for me:
1.- Open Encore “as Administrator” (right-click on the icon and choose the option “Run as administrator”
2.- Once inside, put the serial number back in.
3.- Close Encore and reopen it normally
Theoretically it should work normally forever (Until you reinstall the program).Good luck!
