You ROCK Don! Thanks for your creations 🙂
To GROSS MUSIC: I don’t know if you are a programmer.. and I don’t know Don Williams personally … Don Williams has created some really – what we in the computer science world call- “elegant” applications. He should be spoken about in an admiring and positive way. If you read early messages you might have a better understanding: he works a full-time job and has been doing these updates to Encore and MTP in his spare time. Maybe there’s something to be said for “don’t make promises you can’t keep” related to some earlier estimations he made about when he hoped to be done, but I do not think it’s right to admonish him for that…
I guess part of me fears that Don might read something like you and others have written about the wait time and how frustrating that feels – and I fear he might get pissed off and just stop. I doubt it… but still worries me. Positivity rocks! The time will come – one day – when these updates are released!!
Thanks Don for making these products!!
You might just get surprised and MTP could skyrocket with the current producing crowd. None of the current MIDI sequencing/DAW apps (i.e. FL Studio, etc.) come close to the elegance, depth and ease of use of your original Master Tracks. I hope you keep the original interface design: simple yet complex, like it was… that’s MTP’s strength – like sculpting with chisel and hammer. (And please keep/add device files for easy mapping (Korg M1. XD5, etc.) 🙂
Don: if you could please give us new dates to think about that would be very kind of you.
Encore: ??
MTP: ??Knowledge is comforting. If the dates come and go, that’s ok, you’re working hard on this, we’re fortunate for that!!
The frustrations expressed on these forums are more about lack of info (and your previous silence).
If for example I know you’re hoping for some month in 2027 or 2028, I don’t have to keep checking the website and forums every week, or month… I know I should just wait until at least that date YOU are hoping for.
Anyway, cheers from Half Moon Bay 🙂 Looking forward to a modern MTP experience.
Where did you hear or read Encore would be released Fall 2028…???
Yes, great to hear from you Don that a new Master Tracks Pro is still “coming soon”!!!
May I (we) ask for a realistic “prediction” of that release date?
In the field of psychology, we talk a lot about “expectation management” to relieve anxiety and depression… 😉June 20, 2026 at 1:11 am in reply to: WHEN could we see an Updated Version of Master Tracks PRO …? #5161Right! Overture. My mistake there, but the interface and functionality of the midi sequencer in Overture, in my opinion, is more similar to many other DAW programs than to Master Tracks; it resembles MTP very little… Master Tracks is just by far the most intuitive and elegantly designed Midi sequencer I have ever seen: just enough complexity of tools, and yet simple and intuitive in design, not overdone. Really hope he can release a very similar version to the original MTP, AND with all the vintage device files. Korg M1, X5DR, etc.
June 19, 2026 at 12:35 pm in reply to: WHEN could we see an Updated Version of Master Tracks PRO …? #5159My understanding is that Don has the desire to release an updated version of MTP. I did not hear that plan was “dropped” because there is some MTP functionality in Encore, I think there was someone in the forum suggesting that using the sequencer function in Encore could be a workaround. I can’t believe that all the greatness and elegantly designed interface of MTP could be embedded in Encore… but maybe I am wrong.
I read that Don does have a passion to create an MTP update. Did he mention that in your most recent talk with him?
Wow. A lot of passion for these products!!
If Don is reading these – my message to you is I’ll be so happy when you release a new version of Master Tracks Pro. It’s such a great product – elegant design and a joy to use – and I hope that the comments about you are not so off-putting as to make you abandon your work on MTP! I for one am hanging in there 🙂
Kind regards from HMB
