Karl,
This “watermark” indicates that you are running in “demo” mode
– either you have installed a demo installer
– or you have installed a full version, but did not fill in your licence code.Did you receive from musica.at both a full installer and a license code?
To record the license code, select “About Encore” in the Help menu.

I’ve sent you my download page.
We have to be realistic:
– Both Overture and Encore look abandoned by Sonic Score’s owner.
– We must understand that resources are completely missing to progress in any of these two areas!
When the former PassportMusic abandoned the boat, early 2022 (and already in the years before when there was no progress either),
the Encore users were faced a double issue when considering that situation:
– the burden of learning, then become efficient with, another comparable product.
– the need to reclaim their earlier work sitting in their libaries of Encore files.Frankly, my opinion is that the first element is something that may lies onto all of us. Difficult and annoying, but not impossible.
But we cannot face the second element without technical tools or methods.1. My first expectation, suggested before the 2022 crash, was to have a limited update to the Encore software, forgetting about 64bit support, which “simply” provided a valid XML export, at least at the XML2 standard.
2. My second hope, when I saw that the product was bought back by Sonic Scores, was to get a nice new version, of course.
3. But I would have been satisfied enough if only some elements of the plan were kept:
— Having Overture reading Encore files (E4.5 and E5) — which would allow XML export at XML3 level
— Having signs of life of Overture product. After all, Overture is certainly the product which offers the best “mental” compatibility with Encore, and so the smoothers learning curve.
4. If nothing comes from Sonic Scores, we stay with the need to convert our files.
What might be possible for our community is to somehow “organize” some efficient migration method.— the prerequisite is to ensure that all users have PDF versions on disk of all their files.
— that I understand from all the discussions made here, the only practical tool is to use the PDFtoMusic product:
++ PDFtoMusicPro as a standalone tool to create XML2 version of the Encore files
++ Plan PDFtoMusic for the users wanting to use Harmony Assistant as their future music editor. These methods require to become efficient with these products, perhaps with a user’s guide. Would a forum be something useful?
March 7, 2026 at 6:01 am in reply to: How to insert Copyright notice, ie. the “c in a circle” character? #5017I had no problem using (on the “text elements” screen) ALT+0169 to insert a circle-C .
Success might depend on the specified font, I tried with Arial, Verdana, Calibri and a few others (Font is specified on the same panel).Note that the mandatory use of this kind of copyright mention is linked to the US laws up to 1989.
Nowayadays, it is still (widely) used as an (unofficial) cautionary indication with little legal effect.
See WikipediaAnd still, be sure to use it only for scores of which you are the actual composer!

Changed since 2022, of course.
I think that “this summer” was set in spring 2025. Before that, references were to Fall (or Thanksgiving).“This summer” is a “due date” which does not need updates… (sad)
Roger, importing a score into Overture 5 can only be done via XML or MIDI. It has been said here that Overture 6 would directly import Encore files. But the availability of Overture 6 is at leas as uncertain as the one of encore 6.
Encore and Overture have many similarities, but that is for the appearance, ergonomy, look and feel etc.
It does not imply at all that their file structure would be close or similar.I would guess that, when Don started with Overture, he started with a file structure which was quite similar to what he made in the eariest Encore (rather than inventing a totally new one), but both products saw their file structure evolving separately and incompatibly.
Please send me a mail, so that I have your e-mail addres.
Do you love Mac a much as you love Encore?
Nobody knows.

I’m not really a user of MTS…
Would you send me such a file? What exactly do you call TRAX? I have seen that word used as a shorthand for MasterTracks, but also for another piece of software, perhaps something that was running on pre-PC computers.
Dan, send me a mail so that I have your address.
February 11, 2026 at 3:34 am in reply to: opening old .mus musictime deluxe files in encore – where to buy a copy? #4968Select the quarter’s icon and the triplet ican, in the Notes palette and place the note on the score.
Then the same with an 8th + triplet. In “arrow mode” draw a rectangle around these two notes, open the Notes menu and click on “group” or “beam”, in the pull-down select “beam on group”.
Did you complain to Apple?
