Chris, just so you know, the company that we all purchased Encore 5 from is defunct.
I’m one who needs the Music XML Export from Encore to work, so I can much more easily continue working on older Encore scores. If a Converter that did only this were offered, I would buy it in a heartbeat. If the new full version of Encore 6 turns out to be so good that it allows me to go back to Encore, so much the better.
But my problem in trying to wait patiently is this forum software that confuses me with post dates that just are not accurate. Following the communication in this forum is usually futile because the post dates make no sense even after refreshing the browser. I check the forum, see that there is a new post within a day or two, only to find I already read it days or weeks ago.

I will be happy even if the new Encore only adds the ability to export chords correctly.
Mike, or anyone, do you know any details about how the Music XML backward compatibility works here? For example, if an application exports Music XML 4.0 but the other application that imports it only supports 3.x, will the 4.0 file be imported correctly as far as it goes?
Daylight Saving Time is a sign of the impending end of winter.
That’s a good point that multiple software programs choose to use the same extensions. What I meant was, is there any program now that can read an Encore 5 file and convert it to usable Music XML? Or are we limited to waiting for Encore 6 to do that?
This is probably answered elsewhere, but since the file formats for MusicTime (Deluxe) and Encore are the same (with different extensions), what if any other software will read those files now, please?
Yes, I asked about this well more than a year ago. On a Windows 11 PC, one browser refresh gets me closer but is still not accurate. Gone are the days when I visited this forum regularly and expected to see current news easy to find.
Thank you for the update.
Thank you for the update, and best of success.
September 14, 2024 at 8:05 pm in reply to: If you moved on from Encore, what are you now using? #3449I couldn’t stay with Encore – it crashed too much. I converted to Notion 6 for Desktop by Presonus.
That makes sense, because of the time away from Encore. Thanks.
I’m confused. If the same person is developing Overture and now (again) Encore, and updates are being programmed for both, how would the two programs be different? Why market two?
I don’t know about Macs, but on a Windows machine, even if copying the Encore folder worked, you would still need to install the special Encore fonts to be able to see the notation.
Mine is 5.0.3.789
