I’ve offered money to speed this up via forums with no way to get to him. Assuming you’ve told Don that there are those of us willing to pay to speed this up, that there is no concrete anything & no word from him makes me believe this will never happen. We only have blanks to fill with our imagination. No updates. No news. No explanation.

It’s like the longest tease ever.

Mike, is Don sick? Dead? Is there anything you can tell us. Last we heard from him was May 2025.

I’m offering money to fund the completion & CRICKETS. What is going on?

Don. Are you alive? Not joking. May 2025 is the last we’ve heard from you.

I’m offering MY OWN MONEY to fund this & get it done. PLEASE respond to us.

Any update for everyone waiting, Keymaster? Do you need us to fundraise to speed up the process? No news is agonizing.

Still hoping for real answers. Any clue as to when there will be a useable Encore again? WILLING TO PAY. Why no meaningful response?

Would love an update. Can we PREPAY or RAISE FUNDS so you can take distractions off your plate & speed up this process?

I don’t understand the Fakebook comment at all, & while I took 4 years of French, I don’t recall a word of it.

Not looking for snarky comments. Looking for ANSWERS. Crowdfunding should be on the table IF it offers a quicker fix.

Ugh – you revived this to say that? So confusing thinking there was 2025 activity.

We have a promise hanging over our heads that a new Encore is coming. Spending time/money on a computer that is imploding for a software that is obsolete would be less than smart, except that the promise is getting dragged out. I came in late to some of these discussions, thrilled to find this promise. But will it ever be fulfilled?

                          Anyone want new tutorials?

                          I’d love new tutorials, Bryce!

Well – I learned there is an < / > that must close the B-Quote
& the IMG doesn’t work, so must use a link.

it’s fashionable to say that something is obsolete

Obsolete is definitely the right word for a computer that is swelling (battery?) over the years & stopped doing any kind of Time Machine or other backups but is on duct-taped life support with unsupported system software JUST so I can run an old music notation software that is taking forever to be updated. The implication that it’s whiny in any way after being abandoned for 10 years & just HAPPENING upon this forum where promises are being made but not panning out (understandable to a degree, but frustrating) is rude.

Yes. Encore is obsolete & so is my computer.

Back to topic, I had tried Finale & had a friend spend a day training me on it many years ago, but it was too expensive & frustrating at the time to stick with it. Thus stuck with OBSOLETE software & hardware.

The latest version for Mac that I know of is 5.0.6.1303M (called 5.0.7 ©2014).

If there is a later version, I’d like to try it on the 25% of my .enc files that get corrupted or don’t open at all on my old Mac running on Mojave.

I just want a 64-bit Mac update. I don’t care if it’s exactly like 2014’s 5.0.7 – I just need it to work on my new Mac so I can update old .enc files & maybe get back into arranging after 10 years’ hiatus.

Others who might be willing include some already in the forums who were Matt Ingalls’ beta testers during the difficult gvox years as listed in the 2014 Encore 5 manual:
