Mario is right.
Often the installation folders have names containing the version numbers, but I haven’t any idea anymore on what is the default installation folder name of Encore 455.
It may be a good idea to make a backup copy of your installation folder.
Once the product is out, we may be able to give installation hints for this kind of situation, if necessary. But I would speculate on the following:
– being a 32-bit programs, Encore 455 and 5 should install within “C:/Program Files (x86)/”
– being a 64-bit program, Encore 6 should install within “C:/Program Files/”I had no problem when upgrading from W10 to W11.
According to a single report I’ve seen, there might be problems with some new systems delivered with W11 (That might be another flavour of W11).
Did you forget the password? the login panel has an option for that.
Or your userid: the “members” selection can help. Would it be TiaD ?
Would you give numbers to specify a “decent size blank score”? Decency is a quite personal feeling. Do you want to print that on on paper, or to show it on a screen?
(in Encore 5) The zoom levels (found at the right size of the enlargment glass) indicate how the “real score” would show on the screen, and has nothing to do with the printed page.
The print page sizes are set in the File Menu, option “Page Setup”. I must confess I never played with it, one may need to get accustomed to it.The staff size is set in the “/” panel, the default is 3 and the maximum is 4, which is not that big.
I agree that this is quite old design, I think still the same as mid-1990’s. Nowadays one works less with paper and privileges landscape formats.
Giovanni,
What is unbelievable, is that Apple has stopped supporting 32bit applications – about 8 years ago, I think. Now, this forum is essentially a dialog between users, with very seldom addition of the product’s author. None of us know when Encore 6 will actually come out.

Claude,
Select the contents of one or several bars. Issue Ctrl-Shift-J – or the last line “Align spacing” on the “Measures” menu.To have it automatically done at note entry, you have the option “Auto Space” in the “Setup” menu.
Did you find a place to buy Encore 504 (recently)?

I answered some of your other posts on this matter, asking for the encore file (or one of them) and a screen shot.
When I have your userid, I can send you a link, but there is no other good downloadable level than 504-875. I don’t think anybody else has this problem.Furthermore, the risk that the same problem shows up again with E6, when avalable, is extremely low, since the E6 is expected to have essentially new code.
July 12, 2025 at 2:49 am in reply to: Midi Device/Instrument Settings is not showing the name of the Instruments. #4557I would like to see a screen shot, and the .enc file. My mail address can be derived from my user name here.
July 10, 2025 at 4:01 am in reply to: Midi Device/Instrument Settings is not showing the name of the Instruments. #4553Yes, it happens that (for a new score, or a new staff), the “Device preset type” (in Midi device and instrument settings) is initialized with “Generic” or some other empty list.
Click on that field, and select, as a base, “Generic Midi” (you may have to scroll up a little to find it).If you find in the list the exact description of your synthesizer, feel free to us it, of course.
Can you send me a screen shot and the source (.enc) file?

504.795 isn’t a unique level denomination. There have been several experimental levels around 2013, identified with a second set of three digits, such as 795.172 .
These have significantly improved the stability of the product, but for some obscure reason that work has been thrown away when a so-called “Reborn PassportMusic” took over from GVOX via a “management buy out”. This explains that some levels above 795 weren’t an improvement at all.All “windows” except the score itself have a black background. This is hard to read (or needs a bigger “white font”) – and even worse to print – if that is some time done.
Distinguishing from the score window is fine, but I prefer pastel colors.I have seen enough black/dark green screens in the 70-80’s.
When this Encore 6 will be complete, it may still need 5 more minutes to get Overture 6…
Not that I’m opposed to this approach… not at all. Just wondering that the plan wasn’t said from the beginning.
Mario, on some posts “encore45” has signed “Bert”.
