I work under Windows7 with Encore without any problems.
I found the following on the internet for Windows 11: Programs that depend on 16-bit binaries or 32-bit drivers cannot run on the 64-bit versions of Windows unless the program manufacturer provides an update for the program. You can check whether your operating system is a 32-bit or 64-bit system: Select “Start” and “Settings”. Select System . Select About . Check under “Device specifications” and “System type” whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

I was recently on the Sonic Scores website and saw that a new program called “Amadeus Symphonic Orchestra” has been released.
This is probably one of the reasons why Overture and Encore have been delayed. You’re quite right that waiting is not very useful for older people.
But I think Don is probably the same in our age group. So I hope that Don is still young enough to finish Encore 6A dream is a dream until it becomes reality.
As “Musiker” already said: As long as Encore 5 runs on Windows computers, Windows users can still dream.
It will probably be more difficult for Mac users. Hang in there guys!
Personally, I’ve gotten so used to Encore that it will be difficult to switch.
I have Finale’s little brother, but I don’t get on at all with the lyrics input. The input is a real pain. It may be that you can learn it, but if you don’t use the software every day, you forget a lot of things.
Musescore is just as user-unfriendly. I still haven’t managed to create a simple guitar tab with Musescore.
The only alternative for me is Encore 6, if it remains as user-friendly as Encore 5.I hope Don Williams is in the best of health and manages to make the impossible come true: Encore 6!

That’s what I meant. Both projects are being worked on and this is delaying completion.
Overture users are probably also eagerly awaiting an update after the last one was in December 2019.
I’m still quite confident about that…
Because as the German saying goes: Good things take time. When I was writing a 3-page score in Encore and wanted to enter the chord names, I finally found the solution for custom chord names! Yeah!
In the “Chord symbols” view, uncheck “Show root” and enter the desired chord name in the “Custom” free text window at the bottom – that’s all.
Click on “OK” to accept the desired chord name.
Finally I can display the German “H” instead of the Anglo-American “B”.
I hadn’t noticed this for years due to “operational blindness”. Shame on me…I know it’s not an excuse, but there are signs that in Sonic Scores either Don does everything on his own or his team is very small.
Why do I come to this conclusion?
I was just on the Sonic Scores page and saw that there was the last Overture 5 update in 2019. The years before there were at least 2 updates of the software per year. The users in the Sonic Scores forum are also waiting impatiently for Overture 6.
There are speculations that Overture and Encore from version 6 onwards are based on the same code. Perhaps this is the reason why there are repeated delays and postponements of the release date.I don’t know how it is with the other users. Personally, I can (still) live with the Windows version of Encore. This may also be because my demands on the program as a guitarist are not so great and the TAB functionality in Encore is better than in the competitor programs in my opinion.
I also use MasterTracksPro for my solo live performances and am also waiting for the announced new version. Don wrote to me last year in November that MasterTracksPro would be released in 2024 at the earliest.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons why everything is taking a little longer. After all, 3 programs are being rewritten or revised here.Nevertheless, I’m also waiting for the jump to Encore 6 and the new MasterTracksPro.
I’m a little confused about the version you specified. The last revision for Windows computers was 5.0.4.875.
Version 5.0.4.858 is a demo version that cannot be activated with a license key.
What version is the installation from your CD?
Maybe this thread could you help further:Mike Haloran wrote in July 2023 that Overture 6 is planned for Sonic Scores.
I was just on the Overture homepage. There is currently no Overture 6.
I don’t think there will be an Encore 6 until Overture 6 is ready. Don will have a lot to do if he works on 2 programs at the same time.
But then I also think that Encore 6 might become a clone of Overture to speed things up.Only Don will be able to tell us more about this.
It would certainly be a possibility to inundate Sonic Scores with e-mails to generate a reaction.

That is correct. Spring, and thus the end of winter, begins in Europe on March 20, 2024 due to the leap year.
Nevertheless, Don could give a short update on how far they are with Encore 6, unless Encore will be released in the next 18 daysIn Europe, spring starts on March 21. That’s about a week before Easter.

Yes, the development is dragging on… But it wouldn’t be bad to at least give a new timeline then. As Don wrote, I thought that Encore 6 would at least be ready by the end of the year.
In other words, how long does winter last in the USA?
