I modestly add a new possible argument. The fact that the score is not displayed correctly could be linked to the TTF font. In the Windows version, I think I remember it being called “Anastasia”. I don’t know to what extent reinstalling this font or even deleting and reinstalling the entire program could solve this problem.
This is what worked for me:
1.- Open Encore “as Administrator” (right-click on the icon and choose the option “Run as administrator”
2.- Once inside, put the serial number back in.
3.- Close Encore and reopen it normally

For a few years I was working with Encore v5, both on Windows and Mac at the same time. I simply changed the pendrive from one computer to the other. I had no problems. I only remember that I had to adjust the page format. The rest, I think, I remember worked perfectly.
I think I already have so much “Stockholm syndrome” that, if one day the big news of the new Encore comes out, I will miss that moment of opening the Passportmusic website while making an espresso from the machine at the company where I work.
I remember that I also had this problem and, I don’t know how, I came to the conclusion that the Windows version 5.04.795 crashed much less than the 5.04.872. Maybe I read it in some forum at the time? It really was like that.
Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21, 1685, but at that time the “Julian calendar” was still in use. The change to the current calendar (Gregorian Calendar) was made later. This means that many sources say that Bach was born on March 31.
In short: March 21, 1685 today falls on March 31.
